Arm Lift Las Vegas

Longing for firmer, slimmer, and more attractive upper arms? An arm lift can help.

Waving hello to a friend, wearing a tank top in the Las Vegas heat, or swinging a tennis racket are all things we should be able to do without worrying about how we look. However, if you’re bothered by loose, sagging skin on your upper arms, this can be easier said than done. An arm lift with Dr. Pancholi can help.

What are the benefits of upper arm lift surgery?

There’s a misconception that loose or “flabby” arms are simply a result of excess fat or poor muscle tone, and therefore a change in lifestyle alone will solve the issue. This is rarely true. In most cases, the problem is excess skin and subcutaneous tissue. While losing weight or strengthening the arm muscles can make a minor difference, no amount of dieting or tricep dips can help tighten loose skin. An upper arm lift, or brachioplasty, is the only procedure that can get rid of the excess skin—and reduce stubborn fat too.

In the hands of a skilled cosmetic surgeon, an arm lift can:

  • Eliminate excess, sagging skin
  • Restore a more youthful, fit shape to the upper arms
  • Help sleeved shirts fit more comfortably
  • Firm the arms, eliminating uncomfortable movement when using the arms
  • When combined with arm liposuction, dramatically improve arm contours
  • Improved Arm Contour: An arm lift can significantly improve the shape and tone of the upper arms, creating a more contoured and aesthetically pleasing appearance.
  • Reduction of Excess Skin and Fat: The procedure removes sagging skin and excess fat, particularly beneficial for those who have experienced significant weight loss or have loose skin due to aging.
  • Enhanced Self-Confidence: Many individuals experience a boost in self-esteem and body confidence, especially when wearing short sleeves or sleeveless clothing.
  • Increased Comfort and Mobility: Removing excess skin and fat can make physical activities more comfortable and enjoyable, reducing the discomfort or limitations caused by excess arm tissue.
  • Better Clothing Fit: Clothes, particularly fitted sleeves, can fit better and more comfortably post-surgery.
  • Smoother Skin Texture: Besides removing excess skin, an arm lift can also smooth out the texture of the skin in the upper arms.
  • Long-Lasting Results: While no cosmetic procedure can completely stop the aging process, the results of an arm lift are generally long-lasting, especially with stable weight maintenance.
  • Reduction in Skin Irritation: Excess skin in the upper arms can lead to chafing and irritation. An arm lift can alleviate these issues.
  • Anesthesia: Medications used to prevent pain during surgery, which can be either general (inducing unconsciousness) or local (numbing a specific area).
  • Arm Lift (Brachioplasty): A surgical procedure to remove excess skin and fat from the upper arms, often sought by patients with sagging skin due to aging or significant weight loss.
  • Axillary Brachioplasty: A type of arm lift that focuses on reducing excess skin in the armpit area and the uppermost portion of the arm.
  • Compression Garment: A specialized garment worn after an arm lift to reduce swelling, support the arms during healing, and help the skin conform to its new contours.
  • Elbow to Axilla Incision: A common incision type in a standard arm lift that runs from the elbow to the underarm area, allowing for the removal of excess skin and fat.
  • Excess Fat: Unwanted fat accumulation in the upper arms, often a target for removal during an arm lift procedure.
  • Fat Deposits: Localized accumulations of fat, which can be found in the upper arms and are often addressed during an arm lift.
  • General Anesthesia: A type of anesthesia that renders the patient unconscious during surgery, frequently used in procedures like arm lifts.
  • Healing Process: The period of recovery and tissue repair following surgery, including an arm lift, during which the body heals and adjusts to changes made during the procedure.
  • Liposuction: A procedure that may be combined with an arm lift to remove excess fat from the arms for a more contoured appearance.
  • Postoperative Care: Instructions and care required after an arm lift to ensure proper healing and reduce the risk of complications.
  • Recovery Time: The period required for healing after an arm lift, during which certain activities may be restricted.
  • Scar: The mark left on the skin after the surgical incision has healed. Scarring is a consideration in arm lift surgery and is typically discussed during consultation.
  • Skin Elasticity: The skin’s ability to stretch and return to its original shape. An important factor in determining the suitability of a patient for an arm lift, as those with poor skin elasticity may not achieve optimal results.
  • Subcutaneous Fat: The layer of fat just beneath the skin, often targeted in an arm lift to improve the contour of the upper arm.
  • Sutures: Stitches used to close the incision in an arm lift, which may be dissolvable or require removal during a follow-up visit.

Why choose Dr. Pancholi for your Las Vegas arm lift?

A fellowship-trained cosmetic surgeon with over 13 years of experience, Dr. Pancholi is a well-known body contouring specialist in Las Vegas. While many surgeons focus only on skin removal with arm lift surgery, Dr. Pancholi’s goals is not just to take away the loose skin, but to create the most elegant, naturally beautiful arm contours possible. This requires a personalized approach and often involves a combination of skin excision, tissue tightening, and/or VASER Liposelection to sculpt the optimal shape.

What does arm lift surgery involve?

Dr. Pancholi performs arm lift surgery as an outpatient procedure at a fully accredited surgery center. General anesthesia is used in most cases and is provided by a certified anesthesiology provider. The procedure usually takes about 1 to 2 hours. Dr. Pancholi will make an incision in the underside of the arm, starting near the armpit. Through this incision, he will perform VASER Liposelection, if necessary, to remove any excess fat and sculpt the arm contours. He will then remove any excess skin or underlying tissues to address sagging.

Following surgery, your arm will be bandaged and placed in a compression sleeve. You will be able to go home shortly after surgery to recover at home, although you will need to have someone else drive you.

“So there are different types of liposuction. We’ve talked about doing general liposuction, but there’s also high def or high definition liposuction. What we’re doing with this is really sculpting out the body. We can go and give you the biceps that just don’t seem to show up, your deltoids, we want to see those show up. We can go and actually do liposuction around the muscles that you already have just to go and define them a little bit better. So, to go and see your triceps show up, your biceps, your deltoids, your abs, your obliques, all of those are things that we can go in liposuction in between the muscles to really allow that to show up, and you be able to show off your new physique that you’ve been working so hard to get.”–Dr. Samir Pancholi

What do arm lift scars look like?

In the past, arm lift surgery almost always resulted in a long scar along the underside of the arm. You will be pleased to learn that this is not always necessary, and Dr. Pancholi will employ the least invasive techniques possible to achieve your goals.

For instance, in many cases, he can reduce fullness and contour the arms using VASER alone. This requires only a very tiny incision located in the armpit, which is virtually undetectable once healed.

In cases where there is mild to moderate skin sagging, Dr. Pancholi may perform a modified arm lift, which requires a 2 to 3-inch incision in the crease of the armpit. This allows him to remove excess skin and tighten the underside of the arm with a much smaller scar and shorter recovery time. The resulting scar is located in the armpit and will fade over time, although it may be visible when your arms are raised.

There are cases in which the traditional arm lift scar is necessary. When there is considerable loose, hanging skin, such as following massive weight loss, Dr. Pancholi will need to make a longer incision to remove the excess skin and achieve a beautiful result. Of course, he will take care to make the incision no longer than necessary, and it will be strategically placed so that it is not visible when your arms are hanging naturally at your sides.

How long is recovery after an arm lift?

Arm lift recovery time varies depending on the patient and the technique(s) used. With VASER liposuction only or a modified arm lift, patients are usually back to sedentary work and daily activities within 2 to 3 days. Those having a traditional brachioplasty may need 5 to 10 days before resuming their normal schedule. Dr. Pancholi will provide you with a personalized recovery schedule, based on your surgery protocol, your lifestyle, and your needs.
