Dr. Pancholi in Vienna: Presenting at the World Academy of Cosmetic Surgery Annual Meeting
Did you know that in addition to being one of Las Vegas’s most sought after cosmetic surgeons, Dr. Pancholi is also considered an authority on patient safety and breast surgery techniques by his colleagues worldwide?
He recently had the opportunity to present on the very important topic of breast implant associated anaplastic large cell lymphoma, or BIA-ALCL, to an elite panel of cosmetic surgeons at the World Academy of Cosmetic Surgery Annual Meeting in Vienna, Austria.
Dr. Pancholi has closely followed the BIA-ALCL issue since the medical community became aware of it several years ago. At the Vienna meeting, he shared research and findings on the overall status of the disease in the United States and various countries worldwide. His presentation helped spark discussions among cosmetic surgeons about how best to approach BIA-ALCL as new research emerges, with the ultimate goal of minimizing patient risk for this rare condition.
Overall, the Vienna meeting was a chance for Dr. Pancholi and his colleagues to collaborate with other highly qualified cosmetic surgeons from across the globe and gain valuable insight and knowledge to help strengthen his own practice here in Las Vegas:
“This meeting was powerful in presenting a variety of new solutions to common patient concerns, and included an energetic crowd filled with camaraderie. As cosmetic surgeons, we all share similar perspectives on patient care, safety, and surgical techniques, yet we each have unique approaches to achieving excellent patient outcomes. Each country also has cultural differences that cosmetic surgeons must take into consideration when performing surgeries. International meetings like this help us all broaden our perspectives and ultimately better serve our patients.”—Dr. Pancholi
Although the meeting took up most of his time—Dr. Pancholi served as chairman and faculty member as well as presenter—he managed to enjoy his time in Vienna.
“The food was excellent, the palaces are amazing, and Vienna is a stunningly beautiful city—I would return in a heartbeat and highly recommend a visit.”
