Renuvion in Las Vegas
What is Renuvion?
Renuvion® gently tightens fibers under the skin, causing loose or crepe-like skin to smooth and tighten. It also promotes collagen production that gradually helps your skin appear firmer and tighter in the months after your procedure. To accomplish this, Renuvion combines two technologies:
- Radiofrequency (RF) is the energy needed to heat the fibers under the skin. It contracts tissues and prompts a wave of collagen production for firmer skin. When combined with helium, RF is far more precise and efficient at heating tissues. This dramatically reduces the possibility of overheating, protecting you during the procedure.
- Helium both (1) delivers targeted RF energy to the fibers under the skin and (2) combines with the RF to form a plasma energy state. Plasma heats and contracts the fibers quickly, giving your cosmetic surgeon better control and keeping you safe.
During your Las Vegas Renuvion procedure, Dr. Pancholi creates a small incision (about 5 mm) and places the Renuvion wand beneath the skin. He then uses the RF energy with helium gas to precisely heat the skin to instantly promote contraction of the underlying skin fibers causing the skin to tighten back towards the underlying fat and/or muscle.
You will see tighter skin in the days after surgery, and your results will continue to improve over the course of several months: most patients start to see a noteworthy result after 1-2 months, once swelling has fully subsided and collagen production is well underway.
- Key Benefits
- Glossary
- Skin Tightening and Rejuvenation: Renuvion effectively tightens loose or sagging skin, particularly in areas such as the neck, abdomen, thighs, and arms, offering a rejuvenated appearance.
- Minimally Invasive Procedure: Unlike traditional surgical lifts, Renuvion is less invasive, requiring only small incisions, which results in less scarring and a quicker recovery.
- Immediate and Continuing Improvement: Many patients observe immediate skin tightening after the procedure, with results continuing to improve over several months as collagen production is stimulated.
- Reduced Recovery Time: The recovery time for Renuvion is typically shorter compared to more invasive cosmetic surgeries, making it a more convenient option for those with busy lifestyles.
- Collagen Stimulation: Renuvion’s unique technology stimulates collagen production, leading to firmer and more youthful-looking skin over time.
- Versatility: Renuvion can be used on various body parts and is often combined with other procedures like liposuction for enhanced body contouring.
- Subtle, Natural-Looking Results: The procedure offers a natural-looking lift, avoiding the overly “pulled” look that can sometimes result from traditional cosmetic surgeries.
- Precision: Renuvion allows for precise skin tightening, giving the surgeon better control over the treatment process and outcomes.
- Reduced Risk Compared to Traditional Surgery: Being minimally invasive, Renuvion comes with a lower risk of complications typically associated with traditional surgical lifts.
- Improved Skin Texture: In addition to tightening, the procedure can improve the overall texture of the skin, making it smoother and more even.
- Anesthesia: Medications used to prevent pain during surgery; can be general (inducing unconsciousness) or local (numbing a specific area).
- Collagen: A protein in the skin that provides structure and elasticity. Renuvion treatments can stimulate collagen production, leading to tighter, more youthful skin.
- Dermal Layer: The layer of skin beneath the epidermis where Renuvion’s energy is targeted to achieve skin tightening.
- Helium Plasma: A form of energized gas used in Renuvion to provide precise skin tightening with minimal thermal spread to surrounding tissues.
- J-Plasma: The combination of helium plasma with radiofrequency energy, used in Renuvion to create a controlled thermal effect for skin tightening.
- Minimally Invasive: A type of procedure that requires only small incisions or no incisions at all, which is characteristic of Renuvion treatments.
- Radiofrequency Energy (RF): Energy used in Renuvion to create heat, which, in combination with helium plasma, contracts and tightens the skin.
- Renuvion: A cosmetic technology that combines helium plasma with radiofrequency energy to tighten and rejuvenate skin with minimal invasiveness.
- Skin Laxity: A term describing loose or sagging skin. Renuvion is often used to improve skin laxity in various body areas.
- Subdermal: Referring to the area beneath the skin. Renuvion’s energy is applied subdermally to tighten skin from within.
Candidates for Renuvion skin tightening
Please note that not all skin will shrink up the same. Dr. Pancholi may be able to only achieve limited results if you have skin that is too loose or stretch marks (which means that the elastic fibers in your skin are broken). Dr Pancholi will discuss whether or not you are a good candidate for this procedure when you visit our Las Vegas office for your Renuvion consultation.RF + helium = plasma: The magic of efficient and targeted skin contraction
The technology: How Renuvion works
In the past, technology-based skin contraction required a significant amount of time and monitoring in order to slowly heat the skin to the “correct” temperature for contraction. If the temperature was not achieved or maintained for the correct time, contraction wouldn’t be effective. On the other hand, if too much RF heat was delivered (or for too long), the patient could be burned.
Renuvion is innovative because it allows the correct temperature to be achieved in fractions of a second. This happens quickly because the RF energy, when combined with helium, achieves an instant plasma energy state. Further, its specific targeting of the fibers under the skin is what provides contraction much more effectively than prior methods.
Renuvion’s technology allows cosmetic surgeons to treat large areas, such as the abdomen or face, in minutes. In the past, these areas would take hours and would be less predictable in the amount of contraction and overall results. This ability to have controlled and efficient targeted heating is what makes Renuvion a ground-breaking, safe, and efficient skin tightening procedure.
Renuvion can be used throughout the face & body
Renuvion can safely tighten skin in numerous areas of the body, and is highly customizable based on your goals for your body. Some common concerns that we address with Renuvion include:
- Creating a tighter, more defined, “shrink-wrapped” midsection by combining Renuvion with liposuction in the abdomen and waist.
- Addressing minor skin laxity (looseness) below the navel to help patients avoid a mini tummy tuck.
- Tightening loose skin around the belly button.
- Correcting loose skin around the upper arms—often combined with liposuction to create an “out of the gym” look.
- Addressing sagging skin in the arms, or “bat wings.”
- Sculpting tighter skin in the inner thighs.
- Smoothing crepe-like, loose skin in the neck.
- Improving the jowls in the lower face and jaw area.
Renuvion is often combined with liposuction to create a high-definition look and to maximize your overall results.

“Renuvion is one of the newest technologies that’s out there that allows us to go and really shape the body the way that we want. It’s a radiofrequency technology that tightens the fibers under the skin. So when we go and we do liposuction, we remove fat from in between the skin and the muscle, and what’s left behind is kind of this fisherman’s net. What this Renuvion technology is able to do is target each part of this net and tighten it. As it shrinks, it draws the skin in and tighter to the body. So think of it as if you went and you had a sweater that was a little bit too big and you threw it in the dryer, and now it fits. We want your skin after we liposuction to fit you better, and that’s what we’re able to do with Renuvion, and that’s what’s really made a nice difference in how people look, going from an A to an A+.”–Dr. Samir Pancholi
The minimally-invasive advantage
Current non-surgical skin tightening, such as Ultherapy, only affects the surface of the skin and usually requires multiple treatments to see results. Even after multiple sessions, topical skin tightening is unlikely to achieve a dramatic outcome.
Renuvion is a minimally-invasive procedure that falls between non-surgical treatments and surgery. While Renuvion is a surgical procedure, it does not require the longer surgical incisions that you would have with a facelift, tummy tuck, thigh lift, or arm lift—yet the results of a single procedure can be similarly transformative. Plus, your recovery will be shorter and more comfortable compared to the above mentioned surgeries.
Recovery after Renuvion
After your procedure, you are likely to feel sore in the treated area and experience swelling, bruising and/or redness. You will likely need only a few days away from work after Renuvion, but many patients like to take up to two weeks of “social downtime” for swelling and bruising to subside.
Generally, the amount of time you need to heal will depend on the number of areas you have treated and their size. If you have Renuvion performed throughout your face and neck, for example, you may decide to take more time at home for recovery compared with patients who have a small or discreet area treated, such as the area around the belly-button.
