Las Vegas Lip Augmentation
Thanks to new filler options, getting more plump, gorgeous lips is easier than ever!
Lip augmentation can help most anyone improve or restore contour and fullness, providing larger, sexier lips. The key to successful lip augmentation is to make sure your injector address all aspects of the lips, including the inner lip, edge, cupid’s bow, and corners of the mouth. This level of attention, plus the injector’s skill, will supersede the product being used. That said, some products are better suited for these lips than others.
- Key Benefits
- Glossary
- Increased Lip Volume: The most obvious benefit is fuller, more voluptuous lips, which can enhance the overall facial appearance.
- Improved Lip Symmetry: Lip enhancement can correct asymmetry, making the lips more proportionate to each other and to the rest of the face.
- Enhanced Lip Shape and Definition: The procedure can define the natural lip shape, enhancing the cupid’s bow and creating a more defined lip line.
- Reduction of Fine Lines Around the Lips: Fillers can also help smooth out fine lines and wrinkles around the mouth area.
- Youthful Appearance: Fuller lips are often associated with youth and vitality, so enhancing lip volume can contribute to a more youthful look.
- Customizable: Treatments can be tailored to the individual’s desired level of enhancement, from subtle to more dramatic.
- Immediate Results: With dermal fillers, the results are visible almost immediately after the procedure.
- Temporary or Permanent Options: Depending on the chosen method, lip enhancement results can be temporary (as with fillers) or more permanent (as with implants).
- Minimal Downtime: Procedures like lip injections require minimal recovery time, allowing individuals to return to daily activities quickly.
- Cupid’s Bow: The double curve of the upper lip, resembling the bow of Cupid, the Roman god of love. Lip enhancement often aims to define and accentuate the Cupid’s bow.
- Dermal Fillers: Injectable substances used in lip enhancement to add volume, shape, and structure. Common fillers include those made from hyaluronic acid.
- Hyaluronic Acid: A naturally occurring substance in the body, often used in lip fillers for its compatibility and ability to create natural-looking volume.
- Injectables: Substances that are injected into the lips, such as dermal fillers or collagen stimulators, to enhance volume and shape.
- Juvederm: A brand of dermal filler made from hyaluronic acid, commonly used for lip enhancement due to its effectiveness in adding volume and smoothing lines.
- Lip Augmentation: The process of enhancing the lips to make them fuller, typically using injectable dermal fillers.
- Lip Enhancement: Cosmetic procedures designed to improve the appearance of the lips, making them fuller, more defined, or reshaping them.
- Lip Lift: A surgical procedure to shorten the space between the nose and the upper lip, enhancing the lip’s shape and increasing the prominence of the Cupid’s bow.
- Local Anesthetic: A numbing medication applied or injected into the lip area to minimize discomfort during lip enhancement procedures.
- Non-Surgical Lip Enhancement: Lip augmentation achieved through minimally invasive methods, primarily the use of injectable dermal fillers.
- Permanent Lip Implants: Surgically inserted devices that offer a long-term solution to lip augmentation, as an alternative to temporary fillers.
- Recovery Period: The time it takes for healing after lip enhancement, which varies depending on the procedure’s extent and invasiveness.
- Restylane: A brand of dermal filler known for its hyaluronic acid content, frequently used in lip enhancement for adding volume and defining shape.
- Symmetry: The goal of achieving balanced and proportionate lips in relation to the individual’s facial features.
- Volume: The fullness and plumpness of the lips, which can be increased through injectable treatments.
Why Dr. Pancholi prefers fillers over implants for lip augmentation
At Cosmetic Surgery of Las Vegas, Dr. Pancholi has found that injectable fillers such as Restylane Refyne and Juvéderm VOLLURE tend to provide a soft natural feel of actual lips while still adding volume.
Some lips are already full, but just need a little refinement to maximize their look. Restylane Silk, and Juvéderm VOLBELLA work wonderfully to “photoshop” the lip edge, surface, or fine vertical lines around the lips to give a beautiful finished lipstick look. The trade off is that it doesn’t last as long as Refyne or Vollure.
All of these fillers are made of a naturally occurring substance called “hyaluronic acid,” which hydrates and volumizes tissues and feels very natural under the skin. Their soft flexible composition makes for an ideal lip enhancement filler.
Benefits of fillers for lip enhancement
Choosing a qualified provider like Dr. Pancholi to expertly inject your lip fillers can have numerous benefits over other alternative lip enhancement options, including:
- Soft, yet strong fillers feel very natural under the lips
- Dr. Pancholi can inject precisely the right amount to achieve natural fullness and lip symmetry
- No permanent changes. Hyaluronic acid fillers last about 6 to 18 months before your body naturally absorbs the gel.
- Hyaluronic acid can be dissolved by injecting an enzyme called hyaluronidase, allowing Dr. Pancholi to tune down results if needed.
- Easily done in the office with a simple injection, the results are immediate and the recovery is minimal—some patients experience slight bruising, which may last a few days.
What are my lip filler options?
Dr. Pancholi is experienced with a variety of dermal fillers and uses several different products for lip enhancement, depending on your desired outcome.
If you want to smooth vertical lip lines…
Restylane Silk and Juvéderm VOLBELLA XC are each formulated specifically to both add subtle volume and spread optimally to smooth vertical lines (a.k.a. smoker’s lines) for about 6 to 12 months, and our patients have been thrilled with their results.
If you want a little boost in lip volume, but not too much augmentation…
Again, Restylane Silk or Volbella XC are both great options, as they can fill tiny lines while also achieving a fuller lip contour.
If you want a more dramatic boost in lip volume…
For the ultimate in lush, full lips, Dr. Pancholi can use Juvéderm VOLUMA, which has a thicker formula that holds up beautifully when augmenting the lips. VOLUMA volumizes more than VOLBELLA or Refyne, and may last up to 2 years. The trade-off with the thicker formula is that the lips may feel firmer than the less volumizing options. To ensure the most aesthetically pleasing augmentation, Dr. Pancholi pays close attention to your natural features to achieve optimal balance and proportion between your nose, cheeks, eyes and augmented lips.
If you want to improve lip shape or symmetry…
Dr. Pancholi may use one of the above fillers, or a combination of two different products, depending on what corrections need to be made and what will achieve the best outcome for you. At times, scars on the lips may alter the shape or symmetry. This may require a scar release to smooth out and blend the scar with the lip. While he takes care to match products that last a similar amount of time, touch-ups can be made to ensure an even look as the months go by.
